There are so many couples out there who struggle financially and could use a break.
There are so many couples out there that give their all for others and never ask for anything in return.

It is for those couples, that we want to give back by offering free wedding photography to one deserving couple!

The top 3 deserving couples will be announced here on the blog with their photos and stories on December 25th, 2011 after which readers will have until December 31, 2011 11:59pm EST to vote for their favorite deserving couple. The winning couple will be announced on the blog on January 3, 2012.

The Technicalities (please read):

Your submission must be TRUE. This contest is for couples who have overcome great odds, hardships, or are otherwise deserving of free wedding photography. Weddings must take place during the 2012 year and can be anywhere in the world. If we are already booked for your wedding date, and you are not able to change it, then the winning couple must forfeit the prize and the next qualifying couple will receive the prize. For weddings over 150 miles from Savannah, Georgia, travel fees for two photographers is required to be paid by the winning couple.This giveaway has no cash value. Entries must be submitted no later then December 18, 2011 in order to qualify. Couples may enter themselves or be nominated by another party. However in order to qualify, the nominated couple must be aware of the entry. Past clients, or currently booked clients do not qualify for this giveaway. An email will be sent to the winning couple and if multiple unsuccessful attempts have been made to reach the couple, or for some reason the couple is unable to claim the prize, they will forfeit the prize, and it will be given to the next qualifying couple.

Rich and I will be making our way up to Atlanta next month, on August 16th, for the ZOOM tour stop in Atlanta! We will be talking about how we use Zenfolio, how it has helped our business, and the details and aspects of Zenfolio which can help your business!

We are/were really big fans of the Portra 400VC (now discontinued) and were excited to see the difference in the new film, compared to our norm. With this mini-session, not only did we decide to test out the new Portra but we decided what better time to take out our new Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G AF-S lens and put it through some paces.

Well our film came back from development today, and we are very happy with the results! LOVE the skin tones this film offers!

All shots were taken with our Nikon F100, we rated the film at 320 ISO, and shot all images at f/1.8
(No post was done on the images, these are straight scans.)

The week started out on Sunday evening when I had the amazing honor of speaking with PPA’s GenNEXT: Rising Star platform. The turnout was unbelievable and it was an absolute blast to share this platform with so many amazing, talented and super fun young photographers from all across the nation! It went amazingly well, and was a complete rush speaking in front of so many people!

Monday morning, Rich could be found down at the RadioPopper‘s booth, dropping knowledge and selling some of our favorite products from the incredible guys at RadioPoppers. Rich helps RadioPopper’s out at almost every convention. The RP product is something we use A LOT, and are proud to sell and educate other photographers on.

That same afternoon, Rich and I made our way over to the Miller’s booth. And I use the word “Booth”, very loosely. This very large, multi floor and wall display was complete with not only a speakers stage, and an amazing display for all of the Mpix Pro and Miller’s Products, but had a “recharging station” complete with couches, large TVs, and many plugs to plug in your smart phone, or iPad! Here, at the Miller’s speaking stage Rich and I spoke on behalf of Millers. It was surreal to be speaking in the middle of such a large and overwhelming trade show!

Tuesday, we closed the trade show at Miller’s new “Luxe Lounge.” Miller’s decided one booth was not enough and created a beautiful and lavish space above the whole trade show. The only way to get up to the “Luxe Lounge” was by one of the four escalators surrounding the Lounge. Here we spoke in a more intimate setting where listeners could converse, question and discuss different topics with us in a relaxed setting. I loved this style of speaking and really felt we could help and created a great connection with the other photographers that came to hear us.

We had an amazing time at Imaging, got to see some old friends as well as make new friends! And to top it off, right after I finished speaking for GenNEXT, Rich and I got to watch the New York Jets win a very very big game! We definitely celebrated to say the least!
